Who are Pots of Fun?

Pots of Fun was set up in 2001 by Gillian Groom and started as a mobile pottery painting company in the Lutterworth and Rugby area.   Quickly the business became focused on painting the hands and footprints of babies and children on pottery. Based in Leicestershire there were limits on where Pots of Fun could travel so a range of mail order pottery painting kits were developed. Now there are lots of places to go and paint pottery but if you want to do this activity at home or you are too far from a ceramic cafe a kit is ideal. With a kit you can paint at home, at a time to suit you and your children. Take as long as you like, even do it over a couple of days. Relaxed children and parents make the best artists!

The hand painted personalised pottery items, started completely by accident. Gillian thought it would be fun to create a cat dish that looked similar in colouring to her tabby cat, Tawny. The first cat bowl was painted and lots of people asked her for one so the personalised pottery began. Later she got a dog and the dog bowls began. The wedding plates, christening plates and other pottery items followed, typically after a request from one of her customers for a unique personalised gift for a special occasion.

Pots of Fun now focuses on two areas:

• Mail order pottery painting kits, from individual items to larger kits suitable for hen nights, birthday parties or corporate events
• Hand Painted Personalised pottery gifts, items include greetings plates for any occasion, piggy banks, pizza plates, door hangers and Christmas decorations. All items are painted to order and can be personalised with any wording, the only limit is the space on the plate and your imagination. We are also happy to design something unique for you.
